Update Key

Update Key is very similar to when you're in the model maintenance screens and you check the Substituted checkbox.

Update Key is used primarily to say that a given model (ex. Model A) has been substituted by another model (ex. Model B). In this example, we will still finish selling what we have on hand of Model A, and then EPASS will switch you to Model B.

Another function of using the Update Key is if you mistakenly created the model # wrong, and now you need to fix the inventory. For example, you may have typed in Model ABC, where instead it should be XYZ. In that case, the checkboxes on Update Key will tell EPASS to find the old model numbers on invoices, POs, and serial numbers and replace them for you.

Typically, if Model A is being substituted by Model B, you would Update Key to the new model and leave those 4 checkboxes unchecked.
